Daniel CHUI is a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.

His main practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, covering both public and private transactions, and general corporate and commercial transactions.

Daniel graduated from the National University of Singapore and is admitted to the Singapore Bar.

Significant transactions that Daniel has been involved in include advising / acting for the following:

  • The manager of CapitaLand Commercial Trust in the merger of CapitaLand Commercial Trust and CapitaLand Mall Trust by way of trust scheme of arrangement to form the third largest REIT in the Asia-Pacific region, with a total portfolio property value of approximately S$22.9 billion and a market capitalisation of approximately S$16.8 billion.
  • M+S (a joint venture between Temasek and Khazanah) in the sale of the office and retail areas of the iconic Duo complex, comprising Duo Tower and Duo Galleria, to Allianz Real Estate and Gaw Capital Partners for approximately S$1.6 billion.
  • The offeror in the acquisition of Croesus Retail Trust (the first scheme of arrangement of a business trust in Singapore).
  • Cogent Holdings Limited ("Cogent") in the voluntary conditional cash offer by COSCO SHIPPING International (Singapore) Co., Ltd. for Cogent, valuing Cogent at approximately S$488 million.
  • Wheelock and Company in the voluntary unconditional general offer for Wheelock Properties (Singapore) Limited ("Wheelock Properties"), where Wheelock Properties was valued at over S$2.5 billion.
  • Baring Private Equity Asia Pte. Ltd. in the sale of a 73.8% stake held by its investee company, Singapore Retail Group Limited, in Courts Asia Limited ("Courts Asia") through a voluntary conditional cash offer made by Nojima Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. for Courts Asia.
