The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has recently issued a consultation paper to seek feedback on its proposed amendments to the regulatory framework governing advertisements of financial products and services. The consultation paper proposes to remove certain existing exemptions from compliance with such advertisement requirements. The proposed amendments are aimed at enhancing transparency and ensuring fair dealing across all forms of advertising for financial products and services, regardless of the target audience or type of advertisement.
