On 15 July 2026, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES) and the Singapore Contractors Association Limited (SCAL) jointly issued a circular announcing the second version of the Guidebook for Remote Site Supervision (Structural Works), which sets out the framework, methodology and best practices for firms adopting remote site supervision (RSS).
In this update, our Head of Infrastructure, Construction & Engineering Ian de Vaz and Partners Lesley Fu and Sim Qian Yi give an overview of the RSS framework and distil practical action points for project parties considering RSS.
