On 31 August 2026, the Ministry of Law announced that, with effect from 15 September 2026, a mandatory cooling-off period of three business days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays in Singapore) will be imposed on all unsecured loans (other than a business loan) taken from licensed moneylenders.
