Following consultation, Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX RegCo) has finalised amendments to the CDP Depository Rules and the SGX-ST Rules to modernise Singapore’s post-trade custody model, including enabling omnibus sub-accounts and supporting a transition to a broker custody model. The changes align Singapore’s custody structure with global practice and are expected to make Singapore more attractive for international intermediaries and give investors more choice. The amendments will take effect on 15 July 2026.

In this update, our Co-Head of Financial Services Regulatory Elaine Chan and Partners Tian Sion Yoong and Chan Jia Hui highlight the key decisions and clarifications in SGX RegCo’s response to the consultation feedback.
