As highlighted in our Legal Handbook for the Internationalisation of Chinese Enterprises (Singapore Chapter), Singapore has emerged as a key destination for Chinese companies and high net worth individuals seeking to expand beyond China and tap into opportunities across Southeast Asia. Many have established a strong presence in Singapore, attracted by its stability, connectivity, and pro-business environment.
On 25 May 2026, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) announced the opening of its Beijing Representative Office. Together with SIAC’s Shanghai Representative Office, the Beijing office will increase engagement with China’s legal and business communities through outreach initiatives, training programmes, seminars, and collaboration with arbitration practitioners, in-house counsel, and institutional partners.
