In the latest issue of the Singapore Academy of Law Journal (2024 Special Issue), our Head of International Arbitration, Koh Swee Yen SC, Commercial & Corporate Disputes Partners, Joel Quek and Lin Chunlong, and Associate, Samuel Low have co-authored an article titled "The Rules of Court 2021: Perspectives from the Bar."

This piece delves into the transformative changes to the civil litigation process in Singapore brought about by the Rules of Court 2021. Through the lenses of efficiency, fairness to litigants and judicial control, the authors provide a practitioner's perspective through a comparative analysis with the previous Rules of Court 2014, highlighting key developments in the case law since the implementation of the new rules in three broad areas, namely, the general power of the court, production of documents, and costs.
