Singapore was the top regional M&A dealmaker in 2022 with a number of significant acquisition financing transactions undertaken here, notwithstanding a general slowdown in M&A activity across the South-East Asia region in what was a fairly challenging year.

These include the growing interest in green loans, sustainability-linked loans, funding under the Enterprise Financing Scheme – Mergers & Acquisitions loan scheme, “amendment and extension” arrangements and financings through investments in special purpose acquisition companies.
