The New PRC Personal Information Protection Law – New Compliance Requirements in China

On 20 August 2021, the National People’s Congress of China approved the draft of the Personal Information Protection Law (“PIPL”) of the People’s Republic of China. The PIPL will come into effect on 1 November 2021.

This update summarises the salient terms of the PIPL.
