As families and wealth structures become increasingly global, the role of trustees continues to evolve alongside growing expectations around governance, regulation, and cross-border coordination.
Our Head of Private Wealth, Sim Bock Eng and Partner Poon Chun Wai contributed to the Singapore chapter of the second volume - I Quaderni di STEP Italy, published by Wolters Kluwer Italia, titled “The Trustee in International Practice: Regulation, Powers and Governance”.
This was published as part of a series by STEP Italy — part of STEP, the global professional association for trust and estate practitioners with over 22,000 members across more than 100 branches and chapters worldwide.
The publication brings together insights from practitioners across multiple jurisdictions to examine the evolving role of trustees in international practice. The Singapore chapter covers key aspects of Singapore’s trust and trustee framework, contributing to broader discussions on the regulatory requirements, governance standards, duties, and fiduciary responsibilities of trustees in Singapore.
