Key Appointments

05 Jul 2019

Singapore, 5 July 2019 – WongPartnership is pleased to share four of our Partners’ most recent key appointments.

Smitha Menon, Partner in our Restructuring & Insolvency, Banking & Financial Disputes and International Arbitration Practices, has been appointed Chair of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) Singapore Arbitration Group. Established by the Singapore Business Federation, also known as ICC Singapore, the group will promote the interests of the Singapore business community as users of arbitration services and add to ongoing efforts to raise Singapore's profile as a hub for international arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution. Smitha is also the Singapore Alternate Court Member in the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

Koh Swee Yen, Partner in our Commercial & Corporate Disputes and International Arbitration Practices, has been appointed Vice-Chair of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Committee. The committee aims to provide a platform for its members across 65 jurisdictions to share their knowledge and exchange ideas on the growth and development of arbitration, litigation and mediation.

Jenny Tsin, Joint Head of our Employment Practice and Partner in our Commercial & Corporate Disputes and Corporate Governance & Compliance Practices, has been reappointed Vice Chair of the IPBA Employment and Immigration Committee. Jenny will assist in steering the committee forward in its global agenda to provide a forum for its members around the world, to network, exchange ideas and learn about legal developments across jurisdictions, which is especially crucial in today's global economy where employment and immigration issues have become more complex and compelling.

Wendy Lin, Partner in our Commercial & Corporate Disputes and International Arbitration Practices, has been appointed Co-Chair of the Young Singapore International Arbitration Centre (YSIAC) Committee. Wendy will help steer the committee to promote the use of international arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, both regionally and internationally, and to provide a platform for young professionals to work together to address the unique challenges faced by the legal and business communities across a diverse range of Asian jurisdictions and cultures.

These key appointments are a testament to the expertise and professionalism of our lawyers as our firm continues to grow from strength to strength.
