SINGAPORE, 22 JULY 2026 – WongPartnership LLP today announced an endowed gift of S$1,000,000 to the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the establishment of the Alvin Yeo WongPartnership Visiting Professorship at its Faculty of Law.

The gift commemorates and honours Alvin Yeo, Senior Counsel, the Firm’s late Senior Partner and co-founder, who passed away in 2022. The Firm extends its gratitude to Alvin’s family, clients, colleagues, and friends for their contributions towards the gift.

Chairman and Senior Partner, Ng Wai King said, "This visiting professorship honours the memory of an inspiring leader, valued colleague and cherished friend. We are hopeful that the work undertaken at NUS Law through the visiting professorship will continue to inspire our law students, who are the future of our profession.”

Administered by the NUS Faculty of Law, the Alvin Yeo WongPartnership Visiting Professorship will involve the annual appointment of distinguished scholars or leading practitioners in the fields of commercial law and dispute resolution to teach, participate in research activities, and to deliver a public lecture. The first Visiting Professor is expected to be appointed in the upcoming academic year, 2026/2027.

A luminary in his field, Alvin was appointed Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2000 at the age of 37, the youngest ever to be appointed, to date. One of the finest lawyers of his generation, Alvin acted in some of the most high-profile and complex legal matters and landmark disputes during his distinguished career.

Alvin was an inspiring leader and mentor, who was passionate about developing and nurturing legal talent. His efforts and mentorship were pivotal to the Firm, which grew from 11 lawyers in 1992 to one of the largest law firms in Singapore today.
