Yuan Bo is a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.

His main practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, which includes public and private transactions, and general corporate and commercial transactions.

Yuan Bo graduated from the National University of Singapore (LL.B., Hons (First Class Honours)) where he was awarded with several prizes including the Law Society of Singapore Book Prize, Oxford University Press Law Prize, and subject prizes for legal analysis, writing and research, and torts. He is admitted to the Singapore Bar.

Significant transactions that Yuan Bo has been involved in include advising / acting for the following:

  • Olam Group in the proposed sale of its remaining 64.57% stake in Olam Agri to SALIC (the food and agri investment arm of the Saudi sovereign wealth fund, PIF) for a consideration of approximately S$2.35 billion (subject to closing adjustments).
  • Eu Yan Sang International Ltd, the target in (i) the sale of its controlling shareholder’s approximately 86% stake to the purchaser (a consortium comprising Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd and Mitsui & Co., Ltd.) for a consideration of approximately S$694 million (the "Acquisition") and (ii) the purchaser’s mandatory general offer for all of the remaining shares in the target which was made upon the satisfaction or waiver of the completion condition for the Acquisition.
  • GXS Bank in its acquisition of all of the shares of Validus Capital, a leading platform for the provision of loans to SMEs, along with the loan books of Validus Capital.
  • Banyan Tree Holdings Limited in the acquisition of China Vanke Co., Ltd.'s interest in select joint venture entities in the People's Republic of China for an aggregate consideration of RMB480 million, and the disposal of its interest in another joint venture entity in the People's Republic of China to China Vanke Co., Ltd..
  • EZA Hill Property Management ("EZA Hill") and JD Property Hong Kong Corporation Limited ("JDP") in their joint venture and acquisition of five (5) industrial properties from ESR-LOGOS REIT and its sub-trusts for total consideration of approximately $350m including land premium.
  • Tower Capital Asia in forming a consortium with Temasek-linked 65 Equity Partners for the purposes of undertaking a pre-conditional voluntary conditional general offer for corporate-services provider, Boardroom. The offer valued Boardroom at approximately S$312 million.
