Clarence KANG is a Partner in the Banking & Finance Practice and has been involved in multiple landmark financing deals and has considerable exposure to a wide plethora of different financing transactions.

His main practice areas are syndicated loans, club deals, bilateral loans, property development financing, acquisition financing, project financing, capital call financing, multi-currency transactions, international and cross-border transactions involving Singapore law, security arrangements and documentation.

He graduated from Singapore Management University (LL.B., Hons.) and is admitted to the Singapore Bar.

  • DBS Bank Ltd., Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited, United Overseas Bank Limited, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Singapore Branch, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Singapore Branch, Bank of China Limited, Singapore Branch, China Construction Bank Corporation, Singapore Branch and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited, Singapore Branch as lenders in the S$1,954,000,000 syndicated facilities to Singtel Somerset Pte. Ltd. (a joint venture between SingTel and global real estate group, Lendlease) to finance the redevelopment of Singapore Telecommunications Limited's Comcentre headquarters.
  • Financiers led by DBS Bank Ltd., The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Singapore Branch and united Overseas Bank Limited (as mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners) in the S$1.064 billion syndicated financing relating to the acquisition by the joint venture entity between Lendlease and Warburg Pincus LLC of US$1.2 billion portfolio of Singapore industrial assets.
  • Borrower in the S$1.405 billion syndicated financing for the purpose of, inter alia, refinancing the existing acquisition facility and part-financing the construction and development in respect of Golden Mile Complex.
  • A club of lenders in a S$1,080 million “green loan” granted to Frasers Property Aquamarine Trustee Pte. Ltd. (in its capacity as trustee-manager of Aquamarine Star Trust) for the refinancing of Frasers Tower, a premium Grade-A energy-efficient office tower with its own park and podium roof gardens, located at the gateway to Singapore central business district.
  • Jurong Port Pte. Ltd., MAIF Investments Singapore Pte. Ltd. and Petrochina International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. in a S$1.5 billion financing for the purpose of acquiring Universal Terminal, a petroleum storage terminal, from Lim Hin Leong's family.
  • United Overseas Bank Limited, Citibank N.A., Singapore Branch and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Singapore Branch in the grant of term and revolving credit facilities of up to the equivalent of S$1.218 billion in connection with, inter alia, the acquisition (and privatisation) of Soilbuild Business Space REIT which was listed on the Singapore Exchange, SB (Waterview) Investment Pte. Ltd. and SB (Waterfront) Investment Pte. Ltd. by the Soilbuild Group Chairman (Lim Chap Huat) and The Blackstone Group Inc.
