Hsiao-Huey TEO is a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. Prior to joining WongPartnership, she worked in a Magic Circle firm and a Wall Street law firm in Hong Kong S.A.R.
Her main areas of practice are mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity.
Hsiao-Huey graduated with First Class Honours from St John's College, University of Oxford where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Jurisprudence. She also obtained a Master of Laws (First Class) from Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge where she was awarded the Ian Malcolm Lewis Prize for Law. She is qualified to practise law in Singapore, England and Wales and New York.
Significant transactions that Hsiao-Huey has been involved in include advising / acting for the following:
- Delivery Hero SE, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, in its joint venture (valued at US$4 billion) with the management of Woowa Brothers Corp (a Korean tech unicorn), in the largest transaction globally for a food app as of 2019.
- Shunkhlai Group LLC in connection with the merger of its Mongolian beer and vodka assets with those of Heineken Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. into APU JSC, a company listed on the Mongolian Stock Exchange.
- Prime Value Asia Limited, a vehicle of VinaCapital, in relation to the acquisition of Fernland Investment Pte. Ltd., which holds real estate in Vietnam, from Keppel Land Limited and KepVenture Pte. Ltd.
- Keppel Land Limited in its joint venture with Shwe Taung Junction City Development Co., Ltd. and City Square Development Pte. Ltd., to develop a 23-storey Grade A office tower as part of the Junction City mixed-use development in Yangon, Myanmar.
- HanKore Environment Tech Group Limited in its reverse takeover of China Everbright Water Investments Limited for approximately S$1.2 billion.
- L Capital Asia, L.L.C. the private equity arm of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, in the acquisition of stakes in the Ku Dé Ta group and the Jones the Grocer group.
