Joseph HO Yan Jun is a Partner in the China Practice and Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.

His main practice areas are corporate finance, equity capital markets, foreign investment, mergers and acquisitions and property development in the People's Republic of China ("PRC").

Joseph presents and participates in panel discussions at regional and local conferences on PRC-related topics. Joseph is a member of Business China and the Advisory Board of Singapore Management University (SMU)'s Law School. He is also a member of The Law Society of Singapore's Inquiry Panel and sits on the Advisory Committee for the China-Ready Programme for Singapore’s Legal Industry organised by the Ministry of Law Singapore.

Joseph graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Yunnan University (PRC) and obtained Master of Laws from both China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing and McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific (U.S.). He was also a Visiting Scholar at the School of Law, Columbia University (U.S.) from 1990 to 1991. Joseph is admitted to the Bar of the People's Republic of China.

Significant transactions in which Joseph has been involved in include acting/advising for the following:

  • Raffles Education Corporation Limited for the proposed disposal of the group’s entire stake in Langfang Development Zone Oriental University City Sino-Singapore Education Investment Co., Ltd.
  • Surbana International Consultants Holdings Pte. Ltd., an international urbanisation consultant, in its acquisition of Sinosun Architects & Engineering Co. Ltd., a PRC-based multi-disciplinary local design institute.
  • Hebei Oriental Zhuyun Property Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Raffles Education Corporation Limited, in the divestment of four land parcels in the Langfang Development Zone, Hebei Province, PRC, to Langfang Fenghe International Golf Club Co., Ltd. for a total consideration of RMB1.047 billion.
  • Singapore-Sichuan Investment Holdings Pte. Ltd. in its development of Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park located in the Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone's south park within the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone in the PRC with a total estimated investment of RMB20 billion.
  • Keppel Telecommunications & Transport Ltd. in a joint venture agreement with the Jilin City government to jointly develop and operate the Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone International Logistics Park to serve the Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone.
  • Optima Investment & Development Pte. Ltd. to develop a residential project in the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City located in Guangzhou, PRC (a landmark project with support from the Guangdong and Singapore governments).
