China Issues 2020 Negative List for Foreign Direct Investment

On 24 June 2020, the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission  of the People’s Republic of China, with approval from the State Council, published the Negative List for Foreign Direct Investment Industry (2020 version) (“2020 Negative List”). The 2020 Negative List will repeal the Negative List for Foreign Direct Investment Industry (2019 version) promulgated on 30 June 2019 (“2019 Negative List”) and will come into force on 23 July 2020. This update briefly summarises the key differences between the 2019 Negative List and the 2020 Negative List.
