The Workplace Fairness (Dispute Resolution) Bill was passed in Parliament on 4 November 2025. It establishes the formal process for employees or individuals to file workplace discrimination claims against an employer, with safeguards to deter frivolous and vexatious claims. It is the second of the two Bills forming Singapore’s first workplace fairness legislation, the Workplace Fairness Act 2025. The first Bill, which establishes the substantive rights of employees and individuals and obligations of employers on workplace fairness was passed in Parliament on 8 January 2025. The Workplace Fairness Act 2025 (including the provisions under both Bills) is expected to come into force at the end of 2027, and will generally apply to employers with at least 25 employees.
This update discusses the key features of the Workplace Fairness (Dispute Resolution) Bill.
