Noting an adverse trend of more issuers seeking extensions to hold annual general meetings (AGMs) and publish financial statements, Singapore Exchange Regulation (SGX RegCo) has on 2 April 2026 published a Regulator’s Column reiterating the importance of, and setting out its expectations on, compliance with prescribed timelines.
This update highlights the salient features of the Regulator’s Column, such as SGX RegCo’s stricter stance against late AGMs and financial reporting and the potential consequences of non-compliance, which may include the utilisation of the range of SGX RegCo’s enforcement powers and placement of directors and executive officers on the Directors’ and Executive Officers’ Watchlist.
