In our February 2026 update, WongPartnership and Makes & Partners Law Firm examined the responses of the Indonesian capital market regulators to an interim freeze on certain index-related changes for Indonesian securities announced by MSCI Inc. (MSCI) following its index reviews. We noted that the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) proposed an eight-point action plan and, together with the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) and the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), proposed certain measures to specifically address points raised by MSCI.
On 31 March 2026, IDX issued its amendment to IDX Regulation I-A on the Listing of Shares and Equity Securities other than Shares Issued by Listed Companies (Amended Regulation I-A) which also took effect on the same day. The Amended Regulation I-A has incorporated the proposed measures which Indonesian market regulators had proposed in the aftermath of MSCI’s interim freeze and several other noteworthy changes have also been introduced.
